An employee of Heathrow airport lost a USB stick containing more than 1000 files. The USB stick was not password protected or encrypted.

The stick was passed to a national newspaper.

The Information Commissioner’s Office has fined Heathrow £120000.

Only 2% of Heathrow’s staff had received data protection training.

USB sticks and removable media use was widespread.
