WPA3 is on the horizon. WiFi security is getting better!

The way we protect our data when using wifi has been WPA2 (wifi protected access) for over a decade. This is a security protocol and certification programme to secure wireless computer networks.

Finally, WPA3 is being rolled out. The Wi-Fi Alliance has begun to certify devices to this standard and we should see devices using this as mainstream over the coming years. The biggest improvement is protection against offline password guessing attacks which made certain networks very vulnerable. There will also be an “easy-connect” to simplify the way devices connect to wifi – who doesn’t hate having to type in complex passwords!!

Some devices will upgrade, some will need to be replaced.
